The Pioneer men's tennis team travels to eastern Washington this
weekend for a pair of matches. On Friday, the Pioneers fell 7-2 (results)
to the Whitworth Pirates in Spokane.
George Allen (sophomore, Madison, Wisc.) battled for a victory
at #1 singles. He won the first set 6-4 before dropping the second
set by the same score. He won the third set 10-8 to give the
Pioneers their first point. Adam Rager (freshman, Bellingham,
Wash.), won his first set easily, 6-1, before falling 7-6 in the
second. He came back to win 10-6 in the finale to give the Pioneers
their second point.
On Saturday, the Pioneers fell 9-0 (results) to
the #15 Whitman Missionaries.
The Pioneers will be on the road again next weekend, playing in
Tacoma, as they face Puget Sound Friday afternoon and Pacific
Lutheran on Saturday.
