The Pioneer tennis teams finished off a perfect weekend, with
the women winning 8-1 (results) and the men
7-2 (results) over
the George Fox Bruins.
The Pioneer women improved to 4-0 in the Northwest Conference
with Saturday's 8-1 victory over the George Fox Bruins. The
Pioneers took all six singles matches and the top-two doubles
matches in the contest.
Lisa Harunaga won 6-1, 6-1 at #2 singles. Paige Earhart won a
6-1, 601 victory at #5. Teresa Kiemnec played the closest match of
the day, pulling out a 4-6, 6-4 (10-8) victory at #6 singles.
The men earned their second NWC victory of the season with a 7-2
win at George Fox with the Pioneers winning five of six singles
matches and the top two doubles matches. George Allen dominated at
#1 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Dirk Frouws came back from down
a set at #3 to win 4-6, 6-2, 6-0, as did Peter Ray at #5 (3-6, 6-1,
7-5) and Adam Rager at #6 (5-7, 6-4, 11-9)
