The #22 Pioneers fell 64-33 (box score) to the Whitworth Pirates Friday night in Spokane. Joey Toboni scored 12 points for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers took a 9-5 lead on a three pointer by David Berggren (junior, Tualatin, Ore.). Whitworth answered with an 11-point run, going out to a 16-9 lead with 8:30 remaining in the half. The Pirates took the same advantage, eight points, 24-16, into the break.

Whitworth scored seven straight points in the first minute of the second half, to extend the lead out to 15, 31-16. The Pirates had extended the lead out to 26, 50-24, with ten minutes left in the game, cruising to a 64-33 victory.
