Isaiah Frei all earned event victories, to lead Lewis & Clark College men's swimming against Linfield in their first meet of the calendar year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The River Otters notched three event wins and 11 top-3 showings, in their first meet in two months.
Martin claimed the first win of the night for Lewis & Clark. He placed first out of five swimmers in the 200 Free. Martin notched a time of 1:49.22 to barely edge out sophomore teammate
Sam LoCurto (1:50.24). Junior
Colin Ziegler finished fifth overall with a mark of 2:01.99.
Spicer finished first out of three swimmers in the 200 Fly. The senior recorded a time of 2:01.14 to finish 13.87 seconds ahead of the top Linfield finisher. First year
Reid McAllister took third with a mark of 2:13.33.
Frei won the 200 Backstroke with a mark of 2:06.43. The sophomore finished first out of five swimmers and touched the wall 4.30 seconds ahead of the top Linfield swimmer. Junior
Aidan Beatty (2:29.31) and first year
Max Zuberbuhler (2:36.75) took fourth and fifth overall.
Spicer tacked on a second-place finish in the 1,000 Free. He notched a time of 10:32.41 to place second out of four swimmers.
LoCurto led Lewis & Clark in the 100 Free. The sophomore notched a time of 50.42 to finish second out of six. Ziegler placed fifth in the event with a time of 54.83.
Frei took third place in the 200 IM. The sophomore recorded a time of 2:15.15.
Martin and first year
Kofi Franklin represented Lewis & Clark in the 200 Breaststroke. Martin finished fourth of five swimmers with a mark of 2:24.04. Franklin finished in 2:48.91 to place fifth overall.
Beatty led three River Otters in the 50 Free. Beatty notched a time of 25.61 to finish fourth overall. Franklin (28.03) and Zuberbuhler (28.46) placed fifth and sixth overall.
Lewis & Clark took fourth overall in the 400 Free Relay. The quartet of Martin, LoCurto, Ziegler and Spicer combined for a time of 3:22.08.
In the final event of the night, the River Otters quartet placed third overall. Frei, Franklin, McAllister and Beatty posted a mark of 4:02.72.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Frei earned his first event of the season. As a first year, he posted wins against Pacific (November 8, 2024) and Willamette (January 24, 2025).
- Spicer posted a season-best time in the 1,000 Free. His time on Friday night was nearly 20 seconds fastest than his team-best time set against Whitman in the River Otters season opener (October 31).
- Five Lewis & Clark swimmers missed Friday's meet due to illness.
- Martin has won posted three wins in dual meets this year. He won the 500 Free against Whitman, 100 Free against Pacific Lutheran and won the 200 Free on Friday against Linfield.
WHAT'S NEXT
Lewis & Clark will host Willamette University on Saturday at 11 a.m. The River Otters will honor their nine seniors before and after the meet against the Bearcats.
