Kaitlyn Jensen, Lewis & Clark College volleyball fell 3-0 to host University of Puget Sound on Saturday night at Memorial Fieldhouse.Â

Jensen just missed posting her third double-double of the season. The junior led Lewis & Clark in kills and digs and added a team-high two aces. She finished the match hitting .133 and tacked on one assist and one block assist.Â

HB Schuett and
Ruby Kuerschner each chipped in three kills apiece. Schuett led the defense with two block assists and Kuerschner recorded six assists and four digs.Â

Ariah Potts and Edwards each chipped in five digs.Â

Puget Sound's Maddie Badger led all players with 15 kills on 22 swings (.545). Erin Fagan registered nine kills and 10 digs. Randi Rush led the Loggers with 23 assists.Â

Lewis & Clark jumped off to a strong start in the match. They grabbed leads of 8-6 and 10-8 early in the first set thanks to a run that saw them win six out of seven points. Kuerschner, Meleán-Williams and senior
Abigail Warrick all recorded kills during the run. Lewis & Clark would push their advantage to 15-12 on a Jensen ace, before the Loggers went on a 13-2 run to take the first set 25-17.Â

The second set was similar with Lewis & Clark leading for much of the early going. The Pioneers grabbed leads of 5-2, 8-5 and 12-8. Puget Sound would even the set at 15-15 before a pair of errors gave Lewis & Clark a 17-15 edge. The match would be tied at 18-18 and 19-19, before Puget Sound went on a 6-1 run to close out the set.Â

The hosts jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never let Lewis & Clark get closer than two points the rest of the way. The Loggers hit .419 in the set to earn their second-straight conference win.Â

- Jensen has recorded eight or more kills in four matches this season and nine or more digs five times. She leads the team this season with 71 kills and 81 digs.Â
- Kuerschner went over 1,100 assists for her career on Saturday. She sits seventh in program history with 1,001 career assists.Â
- Schuett has recorded multiple blocks in back-to-back matches and four times overall this season. The junior sits second on the team with 15 blocks this year.Â
- Both teams finished the match with four aces. Jensen (two), Meleán-Williams and sophomore Abbi Sanchez each posted one assist.Â
