VENTURA, Calif.—Lewis & Clark College men's golf posted back-to-back rounds of par or better in their final two rounds, to finish tied for sixth overall at the CA State Intercollegiate Tournament.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED

After posting an opening round 296 (+8), the Pioneers recorded rounds of -3 (285) and even par (288) on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning in their first tournament of the 2025-26 season.Â

Sophomore
Charlie Hageman finished tied for ninth out of 60 golfers with a 212 (-4). He led Lewis & Clark in both rounds on Monday. Hageman opened the day with a 71 (-1) and followed it up with a career-best 67 (-5). He notched a 74 (+2) on Tuesday to end the tournament inside the top-10.Â

Sophomore
Mason Hill posted the top score on the team on Tuesday to finish tied for second on the Pioneers and tied for 30
th overall. Hill carded rounds of 76 (+4) and 77 (+5) on Monday to sit fifth on the team after Day One. He notched a career-best 68 (-4) on Tuesday to finish first on the team and one stroke off the best round in the field on Day Two. Hill ended the tournament with a score of +5 (221).Â

Junior
Luke Blankinship matched Hill with a score of 221 (+5). Blankinship carded identical rounds of 74 (+2) on Monday. He turned in a 73 (+1) on Tuesday to tie for second-lowest on the team.Â

Sophomore
Joonho Moon and junior
Kenji Pickeral tied for fourth on the team and 38
th overall. The duo both posted 54-hole scores of 222 (+6).Â

Moon got off to a rocky start on Monday with a +6 (78) but bounced back in rounds two and three. He shot a 71 (-1) on Monday afternoon and posted a 73 (+1) in the final round. Pickeral shot a 75 (+3) in round one. He posted his best score of the tournament in round two with a 73 (+1). Pickeral capped off the week with a 74 (+2).Â

BY THE NUMBERS
- Hageman's 67 (-5) and Hill's 68 (-4) were both the best scores of their collegiate careers. No Pioneers men's golfer has posted a score better than 69 (-3) since at least 2008-09 (full records are not available prior to the 2008-09 season).Â
- Lewis & Clark's round of 285 (-3) on Monday afternoon was their lowest score since at least 2008-09. Men's Golf posted a round of 282 (-2) last year on a par-71 course to win the George Fox Invitational. Â
- Lewis & Clark finished the tournament tied for second as a team with a score of -21 on par 5s.Â
- Blankinship tied for first in the field with his score of -7 (4.42 average) on Par 5s. Hill was just behind him with a -6 (4.45).
- Hageman tied for second on par 4s with a score of -4 (3.87). He also was first on the team and tied for seventh in the field with 12 birdies.Â
- Moon led Lewis & Clark with his 38 pars (tied for seventh) and his one eagle (tied for third). Â
- Whitman College, the only other Northwest Conference team in the field, won the tournament with a three-round score of 837 (-27). Â
