th-year head coach improved to 201-351 with the Pioneers sweep of the Pirates.

Lewis & Clark dominated Whitworth from the first inning of game one as they outscored the visitors 28-0 and held the visitors to five singles across 10 innings.Ā

Gina Ozuna led the offense on Saturday by going 4-5 with four runs, seven RBI, three walks and two extra-base hits.Ā

Lewis & Clark erupted for 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning to cruise to a 15-0 game one win.Ā

Sam Gildersleeve and Ozuna each drove in four runs to pace the Pioneers offensively. Gildersleeve went 3-4 with a run scored, four RBI and a triple. Ozuna added two hits in three at-bats, two runs, four RBI and hit the Pioneers lone home run of the day.Ā

Ryan Jurischk combined for a two-hit shutout. O'Leary threw the opening two innings and struck out three, while allowing one hit. Jurischk moved to 2-0 after striking out three and allowing one hit in three innings.Ā

Lewis & Clark did the majority of their damage in the bottom of the first inning. They scored 10 runs on six hits, four walks and three hit by pitches. With runners at second and third and one out, Gildersleeve tripled off the wall in right field to make it 2-0.
Emily Patton followed two batters later with an RBI double. After a
Lacey Marglin hit by pitch loaded the bases, Zehnder and
Madison Scroggins followed with a bases-loaded hit by pitch and walk to make it 5-0. Ozuna provided the big hit of the inning with a grand slam over the wall in left-center. Campanella capped off the scoring with a bases-loaded RBI single to make it 10-0 after one.Ā

Whitworth had their lone chance to score in the second. The first two batters of the inning reached on a hit by pitch and a single. O'Leary struck out the next two batters, before a wild pitch moved both runners up. She got out of the jam with a pop up to third.Ā

The Pioneers tacked on four runs in the bottom of the inning. Zehnder (hit by pitch) and Ozuna (walk) reached to start the inning. With runners at first and second and one out, Dahir singled through the right side to drive in Zehnder. After a
Mari Alvarez hit by pitch loaded the bases, Gildersleeve drove in two runners with an RBI single up the middle. Campanella pushed the lead to 14-0 with a sacrifice fly to score Alvarez.Ā

Lewis & Clark closed out the scoring in the third. Scroggins reached on a one-out hit by pitch, stole second and moved to third on an infield single. She raced home on a failed pickoff throw to make it 15-0.Ā

Charlize Pope threw a three-hit shutout and Lewis & Clark racked up 13 runs across the second-fourth innings to earn a 13-0 win.Ā

Pope scattered three hits and one walk across five innings. She struck out two to move to 5-1 on the season.Ā

Scroggins and Patton each finished a perfect 3-3. Scroggins went 3-3 with three runs, two RBI and a pair of stolen bases. Patton added three hits in three at-bats, three runs, an RBI and a steal.Ā

Ozuna finished 2-2, with two runs, three RBI, two walks and a double. Dahir tacked on one double, a run scored and three RBI.Ā

After a scoreless first inning, Lewis & Clark scored four runs in the bottom of the second inning to kick off the scoring. The Pioneers used small ball throughout the inning to grab the lead.Ā

Patton opened the frame with a bunt single, stole second, took third on a Zehnder sac bunt and raced home on a
Lola Jarrette sac bunt that was misplayed. Scroggins followed with a bunt single and Ozuna blasted a two-run double to score Jarrette and Scroggins. Dahir pushed the lead to 4-0 with a squeeze bunt where Ozuna beat the throw home.Ā

Lewis & Clark tacked on three runs in the third. Patton and Zehnder opened the frame with back-to-back singles. After a Jarrette sac bunt moved both runners up, Scroggins provided an RBI single. Zehnder raced home on a double steal where the Pirates threw the ball away. Ozuna added a bunt single to score Scroggins and make it 7-0.Ā

The Pioneers put the game away in the fourth. Patton laced a single to center field to score Gildersleeve with one out to start the scoring. Scroggins added an RBI single to make it 9-0. Lewis & Clark made it 10-0 on a double steal where Jarrette scampered home from third. Dahir belted a two-run double to score Ozuna and Scroggins and pinch-hitter
Abby Yamashita capped off the scoring with an RBI single to plate Dahir.Ā

- Cyrus is only the fourth coach in school history to win 200 or more games with one program. Jerry Gatto (Baseball) sits first all time with 395 wins. Men's basketball coaches Bob Gaillard (366) and Dean Sempert (363) are second and third all-time in school history for wins with one program.Ā Ā
- The Pioneers racked up 28 runs on 21 hits, 11 walks, seven hit by pitches (six in game one) and six extra-base hits. The Pioneers also finished a perfect 7-7 on the basepaths.Ā
- Cyrus earned her 100thĀ career win on April 15, 2019 against Whitworth (3-1) in her 10thĀ season. It took her only five-and-half seasons, including a COVID-19 shortened 2020 season, and 184 games (100-84), to reach 200 career wins. She earned her 100thĀ and 200thĀ career wins against Whitworth.Ā Ā
- Gildersleeve is one home run away from reaching the 40-40 club. She posted two stolen bases in game two to reach 40 career stolen bases (fourth all-time). Gildersleeve owns the Pioneers program record with 39 career home runs.Ā
- Pope posted her second collegiate shutout in game two.Ā
- Patton played in career games number 100 and 101 on Saturday. She finished 4-7 with four runs scored.Ā
