McMINNVILLE, Ore. ā Lewis & Clark men's soccer turned in a strong defensive performance on Saturday afternoon, narrowly falling 1-0 to Linfield College in Northwest Conference action.

The Pioneers (0-16-3, 0-13-2 NWC) battled evenly with the Wildcats (2-13-3, 2-10-3 NWC) for most of the match, holding Linfield scoreless until the 85th minute when Ross Vargo converted a penalty kick for the hosts.

Lewis & Clark generated several promising scoring opportunities throughout the contest, outshooting Linfield 6-3 in the opening half and finishing with 10 total shots to the Wildcats' 13.Ā

Junior midfielder
Dylan Weinstein led the attack with three shots on goal, while
Ben Schwartz Talen Haywood and
Raff Ladd each added one on target. The Pioneers also earned five corner kicks in the match.

Goalkeepers
Micaiah Garan and
Declan Cloutier combined to record three saves for the Pioneers. Garan made two stops in just over 60 minutes of play, while Cloutier added one during a first-half shift.

The Pioneers created several quality opportunities, including a first-half penalty kick by Weinstein that was denied by Reese in the 35th minute.Ā

Lewis & Clark returns home on Sunday, November 9, to host Willamette University at Griswold Stadium in the final match of the 2025 season. The contest will also mark a special occasion as the Pioneers celebrate their first Senior Day since the program's reinstatement in 2022.
