(Lewis & Clark 0-15-3, Northwest Conference 0-12-2)
(Whitman 13-0-5, NWC 12-0-2)Ā

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ā
After Lewis & Clark threatened to hand the Blues their first loss of the season in Portland, Whitman struck for three first-half goals to keep their NWC Title hopes alive. Lewis & Clark outplayed the hosts in the second half and doubled them up in shots (8-4), but couldn't find a way back into the game.Ā
Ā
Junior goalie Micaiah Garan made four saves on seven shots. He went over 3,000 career minutes played during his 40thĀ career contest.Ā
Ā
Junior midfielder Dylan Weinstein led the Pioneers with three shots and two shots on target. Sophomore Kaden Nakamura finished second on the team with two shots. Seniors Aashir Walson and Ishan Abraham, sophomore Aleister Alfstad and first year Ren Fukuoka all added a shot on target.Ā Ā
Ā
Whitman grabbed the lead in the fourth minute of action. Remy Marcks found Takahiro Hikida, who calmly slotted home his shot for his first goal of the season.Ā
Ā
Lucas McAllister scored his team-leading 11thĀ goal of the season at 17:33 to make it 2-0. Jude Clum-Stockton picked up his first of two assists on the tally.Ā
Ā
The hosts put the game away with a third goal at 25:02. Clum-Stockton and McAllister set up Kevin Serrano for his fifth goal of the season.Ā
Ā
Whitman would continue to pressure Garan's goal but the score would stay at 3-0, despite the Blues holding a 15-3 advantage on shots at halftime.Ā
Ā
The Pioneers came out much stronger to start the second half and forced three saves in a 6:33 span between the 57thĀ and 63rdĀ minute. Walson, London and Weinstein all recorded shot on goal during the flurry, but Tait Whittemore managed to save all three shots.Ā
Ā
Lewis & Clark would continue to pressure the Blues goal but Whitman held on for their fifth shutout of the season.Ā
Ā
