HILLSBORO, Ore.—Lewis & Clark College men's soccer junior goalie
Micaiah Garan became the first player in program history to be named Student-Athlete of the Week since the program returned to varsity status in 2022, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.Â

Garan earned Men's Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week honors after posting his second collegiate shutout and 15 total saves over the weekend.Â

He opened the week with nine saves on 12 shots in a 3-1 loss to two-time defending league champions Pacific Lutheran University. On Sunday, he stopped all six shots he faced to help Lewis & Clark earn a 0-0 draw against the University of Puget Sound. It marked Garan and the program's second shutout since 2022. He also posted six saves in a shutout tie against George Fox University on October 25, 2023.Â

Garan leads the Northwest Conference this year in saves (80) and saves per game (6.15). In conference play, he sits first in saves (63) and saves per game (6.30) and fourth overall in save percentage (72.4). He also sits tied for fourth in shutouts (one).Â

The junior has already broken his own single-season record for saves in a season with 80. He is just 73 minutes away from breaking the single-season minutes played record (1,152:41). Garan is on pace to break his own single-season marks for goals against average (2.583) and save percentage (72.1 percent).Â

Lewis & Clark will begin a five-game, road trip on Friday night when they travel to take on Pacific University at 7:45 p.m.Â
