Becca Carlton – Women's Crew – 2001-05
Â
Becca Carlton is the first individual from the women's rowing program to be inducted into the L&C Hall of Fame as a HOF inductee. During her time as a Pioneer, she helped the program take a massive step forward en route to the program's first-ever trip to the NCAA National Championship Regatta in 2006. Individually, Carlton spent four years on the varsity team and served as captain of the team in each of her final three seasons. Carlton was named Lewis & Clark's Woman of the Year in 2005 and earned First Team All-American accolades. Lewis & Clark was ranked in the top-15 in the US Rowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches' Association (CRCA) Poll in the spring of her junior year (15
th) and again as the preseason #10 team her senior year. The varsity 8+ boat earned massive wins over conference foes at the Head of the Silcox Race (October 2004), Charlie Brown Regatta (October 2004) and the Governor's Cup (April 2005). She went on to serve as a collegiate coach with stops at Wellesley College, University of Minnesota, Stanford University, and the University of California Berkeley.  Â
Â
Lisa Harunaga – Women's Tennis – 2006-10Â
Â
Lisa Harunaga put together a tremendous career in three seasons with the women's tennis program. She earned First Team All-Conference honors in her first two years and added a NWC Second Team award as a senior. She also was recognized as the Pioneers Rookie of the Year for the 2006-07 season. During her sophomore campaign, Harunaga made it to the Finals of the Fall ITA in doubles and reached the semifinals in singles. Over the course of her three full seasons, she posted a 65-49 record while playing the majority of her matches at First Singles and First Doubles. She recorded a 33-24 mark in singles and 32-25 record in doubles. After notching 21 total victories as a first-year, Harunaga put together an incredible sophomore season. She went 14-1 in singles play and 12-4 in doubles action to finish the year 26-5 (83.9 winning percentage). She returned to the lineup as a senior, to help the team finish 11-8 in NWC play and earn a spot in the NWC Tournament Semifinals for the first time since 2003.Â
James Hollins – Men's Basketball – 2008-13Â
Â
Despite an injury that cost him his most of junior season, James Hollins only got stronger in putting together a phenomenal career on the hardwood. Hollins earned All-Conference honors four times, including being named to the NWC First Team in his fourth and fifth seasons. He was named the L&C Freshman of the Year for the 2008-09 school year and the NWC named him to the Second Team his first two seasons. Hollins was incredibly consistent, as he averaged double-digit points in all five years and led the team in scoring his final two seasons. Over the course of 104 games, Hollins amassed 1,484 points and 110 steals which both rank 10
th in program history. He recorded 629 rebounds, 158 assists, 475 made field goals and 194 made 3-pointers. Hollins ranks first in program history for made free throws in a single-game. Â
James Taylor – Men's Track & Field, Football – 1993-97
Â
Nearly 20 years after graduation, James Taylor still ranks as one of the top throwers in track & field program history. The four-time Northwest Conference Champion is the program-record holder in the shot put and still sits in the top-50 in the discus, hammer and javelin. As a senior, Taylor broke a 13-year program record in the shot put by launching the implement 15.77M (51-7.25 Feet). No one has come within four feet of his record since he graduated. Taylor also sits third in the discus (50.16M – 164-5.50 Feet) and his mark is the best by a Pioneer since 1985. The dual-sport athlete ranks 10
th all-time in the hammer (46.51M – 152-6.0 Feet) and 42
nd in the javelin (50.88M – 166-9.25 Feet). He won the conference title in both the shot put and discus as a sophomore and junior and added three second-place finishes at conference over his career. Taylor competed at NAIA Nationals twice and earned All-American honors as a junior when he placed fifth in the shot put. In addition to his track & field prowess, Taylor made an impact on the gridiron. He was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter with the football team and made an impact on the defensive line.  Taylor was named an All-Star twice, including earning a spot on the First Team as a junior. He finished his career with 116 tackles and eight sacks. Â
Â
Keith Welch – Football – 2009-14Â
Â
Keith Welch dominates the Lewis & Clark Football record book the same way he dominated conference competition throughout his career. The dual-threat quarterback ranks first all-time in passing yards (8,479), touchdown passes (74), completed passes (719) and total offensive yards (11,520), while standing sixth in rushing yards (2,701). He owns the single-season program record for offensive yards (3,128), attempted passes (412) and touchdown passes (28 – tied for first) and is tied for the single-game record with five touchdowns (all rushing) against Pomona-Pitzer in 2010. Welch joined the program in 2009 after a period in which they had won one game in the previous four seasons. During his five years, the Pioneers won 18 games -  including earning multiple wins four times. He earned First Team All-Conference honors three times (2010, 2011 and 2013) and carved out a spot on the NWC Honorable Mention Team in 2012. Welch was named the Player of the Year in 2011 when he helped the team finish 7-2 and place second in the NWC (4-2). It still ranks as the program's best season since 1991 (7-2-1). As a senior, he was a top-10 finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy – the award for the Top Student-Athlete in DIII Football. On campus, Welch was honored with the Joe Huston Athlete of the Year Award twice (2010, 2013) and the PAC Club-Outstanding Senior Male Athlete Career Award (2013).Â
Â
2012 Women's Cross Country TeamÂ
Â
The 2012 women's cross country team still stands as the only women's team and one of two teams in program history to have qualified for Nationals as a team. Fresh off winning their first-ever Northwest Conference Team Titles in 2010 and 2011, the 2012 team put together a dominant performance across their seven meets. Cross country won four meets and finished in the top-four as a team in their first six meets of the season. Lewis & Clark opened the season with wins at the Linfield Dual, the Sundodger Invitational (1
st out of 19) and the L&C Invitational (1
st out of 5 teams). The Pioneers put together their most dominant performance ever at the NWC Championship Meet. Five runners finished in the top-eight spots and Lewis & Clark scored a program-record best score of 21 points (just six over the lowest possible team score). Cross country followed up their NWC showing with a second-place finish at the NCAA DIII Regional Championship Meet. Lewis & Clark finished second only to Claremont Mudd-Scripps (third in the nation) and six harriers earned All-Region accolades. Their performance secured a spot for  the NCAA DIII National Championship Meet in Indiana. At NCAAs, Lewis & Clark placed 20
th out of 32 teams, with Emily Thomas (46
th) and Melissa Newton-Mora (73
