Lewis & Clark Athletics Enjoys Record Day of Champions

Over 2,000 people donated to the Lewis & Clark athletics department, varsity teams and programs

PORTLAND, Ore.—Lewis & Clark College Athletics raised a record-setting $410,961 dollars for their annual Day of Champions on Wednesday, October 29.

The ninth-annual Day of Champions was a resounding success. The Lewis & Clark Athletics community came together with 2,044 donors and impressive participation from alumni-athletes, parents and friends of each team. The department raised over $100K more than the previous record, set in 2024, in setting a new record for donations.

"I want to thank everyone who donated during Day of Champions," Director of Athletics Mark Pietrok said. "We are extremely grateful and humbled to have so many people give back to our department and show their belief in what we are doing. It was an incredible day and this support is going to help us provide the best possible experience for our student-athletes, coaches and staff.

The success of Day of Champions starts with our coaches and staff who work tirelessly to build connections with our perspective student-athletes, alumni and supporters."

The funds will help support expanded travel opportunities, equipment upgrades, new gear and apparel and much more.

""We are incredibly grateful to every single person who supported our program during Day of Champions," women's basketball head coach Ann Dorris said. "Thanks to you, we not only exceeded our donor and fundraising goals, but also felt the strength of our community behind us! Your generosity is helping make our 2026 team trip to Costa Rica a reality—transforming what was once a dream into an unforgettable experience for our student-athletes. Thank you for believing in us and being part of our journey."

Head baseball coach Matt Kosderka added "We are so fortunate to have such great support during the Champions Day of Giving.  Our program prides itself on making sure that every single guy in our program gets to go on every trip to get the full experience, and we couldn't do that without the funding donated during the event.  The support of our donors makes the overall experience that we can offer our guys so much better, and we can't thank them enough."
