TACOMA, Wash. –Lewis & Clark College men's tennis won the final four matches on Sunday afternoon to earn a 6-3 come-from-behind Northwest Conference road win over the University of Puget Sound.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Doubles partners
Matt Chio and
Kai Wills went 2-0 against the Loggers to lead the Pioneers, including winning the final two points to clinch the team victory.
Wills and Chio won the lone point in doubles play for Lewis & Clark to start the day, defeating Levi Buck and Tyler Buck 8-3 at number three doubles.
The Pioneers lost the next two doubles points by identical 8-5 scores. Freshman
Joey Lyon and sophomore
Landon Cronin fell to Noah Henderson and Matthew Zoe in the second doubles match, while sophomore
Wade McDermott and freshman
Noah Sutin lost to Jason Rowe and Will Church in the first flight.
McDermott earned one of the points back with a 6-0, 6-2, straight-sets win over Blixt at number five singles.
Soon after, Sutin dropped the number one singles match 6-1, 6-2 to Rowe, giving the Loggers a 3-2 team lead.
Lyon tied the match at number singles with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Church.
Chio earned his second win of the day at number three singles to regain Lewis & Clark's lead. The junior defeated Ward 6-1, 6-3, and put the Pioneers one match win away from victory.
Wills played the most competitive match of the day at number two singles. The sophomore took on Henderson in a match that would either clinch the win for the Pioneers or tie the match for the Loggers. Wills took the first set 6-3, while Henderson won the second set 6-4. In the third and deciding set, Wills emerged victorious 6-2.
Cronin completed the comeback by beating Zou 6-4, 6-1 in the sixth singles flight.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Junior Bennett Gazor and freshman Max Furman earned an 8-1 doubles exhibition win over David Lybeck and Sebastian Silverstein.
- Sophomore Spencer Loucks and freshman Bridger Galyardt won 8-6 in their doubles exhibition match over Brayden Sawyer and Reef Gelder.
- Chio, Lyon, and McDermott all moved to 3-2 in NWC singles play.
- The Pioneers currently hold the fourth and final spot for the NWC post-season tournament and can clinch a berth with a win in one of their final two matches next weekend.

Lewis & Clark travels to Linfield on Saturday for an 11 a.m. match in McMinnville. The Pioneers have a match and half lead over the Wildcats in the NWC standings.
