Notables

• Played in all 15 spring matches and earned 24 total wins, second most on the team.
• Went 12-8 in singles play with an 8-5 record at No. 5 and a 4-4 record in conference play.
• Defeated Willamette’s Andre Lief (6-0, 6-0) on March 3.
• In doubles, he and partner Joey Lyons made the quarterfinals at the 2023 Fall ITA Northwest Men's Tournament Sept 22-24.
• Finished doubles play 12-9 on the year, 6-6 at the first position, and 4-4 in the NWC.
• Defeated No. 31 George Fox University's No. 1 doubles team, Vahag Pashayan and Lars Schmassmann (8-7 (2)) with Lyons.
• Earned his first career NWC Men's Student-Athlete of the Week recognition after going 3-1 against George Fox and Willamette for the week ending March 3.

NOTABLES

• Made his collegiate debut on September 30 at the 2022 Northwest ITA Regionals in Vancouver, Washington, going 3-2 overall. He lost a three-set match in the consolation semi-finals.
• Finished 3-2 at the No. 4 singles spot while splitting time at the No. 5 spot.
• Went 7-5 overall with partner Kristian Peev at No. 1 doubles.
• Pushed the No. 1 doubles team from George Fox to a tiebreak before falling 8-7 (8-6) in the NWC Tournament semi-finals.
• Finished the season ranked #15 in the West Region in doubles with Peev.

At Lewis & Clark: Minoring in Data Science ... Member of Hawaii Club...Lewis & Clark Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) Representative.  

Prior to the Pios:  All- State tennis selection...Member of two New Mexico State runner up teams...Runner up in state doubles tournament...Team captain...Selected to National Honors Society and Honor Roll student...Brother, Will McDermott played tennis for the Pios from 2016-2020. 

Why Lewis & Clark?: I chose Lewis and Clark because of the healthy balance I will get between competitive athletics and rigorous course work. Not only will I get to be apart of an amazing team, but I will also have a quality education. Not to mention the beautiful campus as a cherry on top.
