PORTLAND, Ore. –The first women's lacrosse game in Lewis & Clark College history was played on Friday night in Griswold Stadium as the University of Mount Union traveled 2,500 miles to be the program's first official home opponent in their inaugural season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Sophomore
Kate Meinhard and freshmen

Finley Allen all scored two goals against the Purple Raiders. Allen added the Pioneers' lone caused turnover.
Freshman
Lauren Elliott led the team with a career-high and single-game program record 14 draw controls and added the team's ninth goal on Friday. Allen and Meinhard each chipped in three draw controls apiece.

Zoey Hamel-Hyland and Aster Dallenbach combined for seven saves in the contest.
Lewis & Clark played one of their best first quarters of the season on Friday as they hung tough with their stiffest competition yet.
Levandoski and Meinhard scored back-to-back goals in the first quarter to pull the Pioneers within 3-2. A little over two minutes later Allen scored her first goal of the game to cut the deficit to 4-3. Mount Union ended the first quarter scoring three goals in a row to go up 7-3 after one.
The Purple Raiders, who participated in the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse National Tournament a year ago and advanced to the second round, outscored the Pioneers 16-3 in the middle quarters to pull away and put the game away.
Lewis & Clark outscored Mount Union 3-2 in the final quarter as Levandoski and Meinhard recorded their second goals of the night, and Elliot scored her first.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Lewis & Clark started and finished a game with all 12 players for the first time this season.
- Freshman Aster Daellenbach recorded her first saves (three) since her debut against Augsburg earlier this season.
- The Pioneers won more draw controls (21-16) than their opponent for the first time since the season opener against Hamline.
- Elliott leads the Pioneers with 44 draw controls through six games; Meinhard is second with 16.
