PORTLAND, Ore.—Lewis & Clark College women's soccer celebrated their seniors and played another tight Northwest Conference contest at Griswold Stadium on Saturday afternoon in their regular-season home finale.Â
THE BASICS

George Fox University 1, Lewis & Clark 0Â
(Lewis & Clark 4-12-3, NWC 4-12-3)
(GFU 6-10-3, NWC 3-9-3)Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
Â
Prior to the contest, Lewis & Clark honored the two members of their Class of 2025:
Abby Hayes and
Ashlyn Little. The seniors have helped lead Lewis & Clark to 25 wins over the past four seasons. Both players were playing in their final home games at Griswold Stadium.Â
Â
Lewis & Clark extended a stretch of seven-consecutive games at home with the game finishing either tied or with a one-goal difference.Â
Â
The Pioneers came out with a promising start as sophomore
Iris Stutzman terrorized the Bruins down their right flank. Lewis & Clark posted two shots in the opening 8:01 and a corner before Stutzman was forced off with a minor injury.Â
Â
George Fox grew into the game and began to pepper the Pioneers defense with shots but couldn't beat Lewis & Clark's new-look back four. With two defenders unavailable, junior
Sophie Rossier (center back) and first year
Kaedance Stubbs (right back) each made their first starts of the season. Stubbs came up with a huge blocked shot on Lindsey Kong in the 24
th minute to keep the score tied after Kong appeared to have time and space to get a shot off inside the box.Â
Â
Lewis & Clark closed the half the same way they began it. They turned the tide and posted four shots with the final one nearly giving them the lead. Junior
Carli Driskill drilled a shot from well outside the box that forced a jumping save from Emily Robey. Robey's deflection pushed the ball off the crossbar and out to keep the game 0-0 with under 100 seconds to play in the half.Â
Â
The Pioneers kept that momentum going to start the second half and posted five of the first six shots in the second half. Senior
Celeste Schreifels and sophomore
Grace Smith each forced saves from Robey who made several diving stops to keep the Pioneers off the board.Â
Â
George Fox broke the draw in the 82
nd minute. Isabella Hector floated a high ball into the box that Alison Weber tracked down. Weber looped the ball into the six-yard box and Becca Kozak was able to lift a shot just over a Pioneers defender and the keeper.Â
Â
