PARKLAND, Wash.—Craig Johnson and Trevor Thompson each scored hat tricks to lead Northwest Conference leaders Pacific Lutheran University past Lewis & Clark College men's soccer on Sunday afternoon.Â

Johnson and Thompson combined for six goals and three assists and the Lutes erupted for six goals in a 15:37 span. With Pacific Lutheran leading 2-0 heading into the final five minutes of the first half, the hosts scored three goals in the final four minutes of the half and then added three more in the first 12 minutes of the second half.Â

Ben Tallent tied his season-high with seven saves in the loss. The junior made five of his seven saves in the second half to help keep the Lutes scoreless for the final 33+ minutes.Â

Thompson opened the scoring in the sixth minute off a pass from Johnson. The Lutes leading scorer added his 13
th goal of the year in the 25
th minute with an unassisted tally.Â

Johnson scored two of the three Pacific Lutheran goals at the end of the first half. He scored at 41:08 off a feed from Quinn Bieber. Bieber made it 4-0 less than a minute later. Johnson capped off the scoring with a third goal in 65 seconds, with Thompson setting up the marker.Â

Johnson capped off his hat trick at 47:54. The Lutes added two more goals separated by 48 seconds with Mattias Anderson scoring his first of the game and Thompson completing his hat trick.Â

BY THE NUMBERS
- Weinstein recorded his team-leading 18th shot of the season and seventh shot on goal. The sophomore has posted seven shots (three on target) in the past three games.Â
- Pacific Lutheran finished with a 20-3 advantage on shots and 15-3 edge in shots on target.Â
- Tallent played the full 90 minutes for the second time this season and matched his seven saves against Willamette University (September 18).Â
- First year Ali Alfstad made his second collegiate start and second in a row. The first year played 120 of 180 minutes this weekend. Â
