HOW IT HAPPENED

Senior keeper Sophia Young was dominant in the net for the Pioneers with five saves to earn her first win of the season and her 14th career shutout. Young made two vital saves in the first half to keep the Boxers off the scoreboard. In the 18th minute, she made a diving save to her right to save a free kick from Pacific's Julia Fechter. A little over eight minutes later, Young stopped Grace Hammermeister's shot just under the crossbar at 25:50. Pacific outshot Lewis & Clark 6-4 in the first half, with both teams making three shots on goal.

The Pioneers came out aggressive in the second half with four shots between 51:58 and 53:22. Sophmore Megan Yanagi, grad student Chloe Helenihi, and freshman Grace Smith all had shots on goal during that stretch.

Joining in on the second-half offensive attack, sophomore Carson Warfield and senior Celeste Schreifels combined for the next five pioneer shots. Schreifels was at the top of the box in the 63rd minute when Pacific blocked her shot.

Smith tried to put Lewis & Clark on the board at 73:44, but Pacific keeper Isabella De La Cruz saved the ball up top.

Less than a minute later, Schreifels slid on the turf and found sophomore Carli Driskill, who made a one-touch finish for the game-winner and her first collegiate goal at 74:27.
