SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.—Sophomore
Max Aldrich and junior
Katya Schwieterman each posted top-15 times in program history in the 5,000m run to lead Lewis & Clark outdoor track & field on Day 2 of the Mike Fanelli Classic.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Aldrich led six Lewis & Clark men's distance runners in the 5K.
The Pios top distance runner ran in the first section of the 5K. He posted a massive PR to finish 15
th in his section and overall. His time of 14:24.15 sits second all-time in program history.
Sophomore
Peter Ford led three Pioneers in the fifth heat of the 5,000m. He placed 15
th in the heat with a time of 15:30.83. Junior
Miles Voenell came in just behind Ford with a time of 15:38.66. Junior
Nate Bay placed third in the heat for Lewis & Clark with a time of 15:47.55.
Sophomore
Will Dennis posted the fourth-fastest time on the team in the 5K. He placed ninth in the seventh heat with a time of 15:47.38. Junior
Dylan Souza raced in the eighth heat and came across in 16:32.24.
Schwieterman led a pair of women's runners in the 5K. She added a PR of her own to move from 25
th to 14
th all-time in program history. Her time of 18:39.54 helped her finish second in the fifth heat of the 5K. Freshman
Emogene Lutz came in 16
th in the fifth heat with a time of 19:30.71.
Freshmen
Clare Lucey and
Madeleine Boyle represented the Pioneers in the women's 1,500m.
Lucey ran in the ninth heat and placed 13
th overall with a time of 5:07.43. Boyle took 13
th in the 13
th heat when she crossed the line in 5:39.53.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Aldrich posted an outdoor track & field PR time of over 65 seconds in the 5K to move from outside the top-50 to number two overall. His time of 14:24.15 is ninth in Division III.
- Schwieterman improved her PR time in the women's 5K by over 18 seconds. She now sits 14th in program history in the event.
- Ford (40th) and Voenell (49th) both cracked the top-50 in program history in the men's 5K.
- Lutz sits 40th all-time in program history in the women's 5K.
- Lucey moved into 43rd in the women's 1,500m.

The entire track & field team will travel to Pacific University on Saturday for the Pacific University Open.
