WALLA WALLA, Wash.—Whitman College scored a goal just before halftime to open up a 2-0 lead and added two goals in quick succession to open the second half to defeat Lewis & Clark College men's soccer on Sunday afternoon at the Whitman Athletic Fields.Â

Whitman moved into a tie for third place in the Northwest Conference Standings thanks to goals from six different players. Zachary Stonier scored twice to lead the Blues to their second-straight blowout victory.Â

Declan Cloutier earned the start. Cloutier made six saves on 10 shots over the opening 69:37. Freshman

Whitman took a lead just before the 10-minute mark, when Christian Gomez scored at 9:49.Â

The game would stay at 1-0 until the final 30 seconds of the first half. Lewis & Clark conceded a foul in the box and Jossue Tobar converted to make it 2-0 at 44:34.Â

The Blues put the game away early in the second half. Riki Kobayashi (51:17) and Fernando Lopez-Vega (52:40) each scored in a 1:23 span early in the second stanza to make it 4-0.Â

Whitman tacked on three goals in a 10-minute span late in the game with Stonier scoring two of the three tallies.Â

Lewis & Clark's offense came alive in the final 45 minutes. The Pioneers recorded all four of their shots in the second half.Â
