HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pioneers fell behind 10-2 right before the game's first media timeout. The Loggers then extended their lead to 30-9 with 9:21 left in the first half. Brenden Patrick led the way as Lewis & Clark slowly chipped away at Puget Sound's lead before halftime. The senior guard scored 11 of his 21 points, and the Pioneers went into halftime down 51-34.

The Loggers outscored the Pioneers 20-12 in the first seven minutes after the break and took their largest lead of the game at 71-46. Junior Jayden Simpson made a layup to start an 8-0 Pioneers run. Simpson and Patrick converted back-to-back traditional three-point plays to pull within 71-54. The duo scored 30 of Lewis & Clark's 52 second-half points. Simpson shot 75% from the field (6-8) and from the charity stripe (9-12) to score a season-high 21 points.

Simpson and Patrick were the only Pios to finish in double digits. Senior Jack Henderson finished the night with eight points, and junior Nikko Echalas finished with seven in the loss. Sophomore Ryan Trunkett led the Pioneers in rebounding with four boards on the night.
