PORTLAND, Ore.—Despite a 2-0 day from junior captain Kristian Peev, Lewis & Clark men's tennis couldn't overcome Whitman University on Senior Day at the L&C Tennis Bubble.
Prior to the match, the Pioneers honored their lone senior: Atticus Pallock.

KEY MOMENTS
Peev and Logan Hausler combined for the Pioneers lone win in double action. Lewis & Clark's top doubles pair defeated Aidan Schutter and John Carter 8-5.
Peev earned a win at number one singles. The junior knocked off Schutter 6-0, 6-4 at first singles.
Freshman Matt Chio nearly earned a singles win of his own. The freshman took the first set at number two singles in a tiebreaker over Harshvardhan Chopra (7-6 (7-5). Chopra responded back with a 6-4 second set win and was leading 4-2 in the third set, before Chio had to retire due to cramping.
At fourth singles, Miles Stone was competitive in the first set, before ultimately falling 6-4, 4-0 to Aaron Yuan.
After not playing doubles, Pallock came on for singles action and fell 6-1, 6-1 to Alejandro Raffo at sixth-singles.
DEEPER LOOK
- Lewis & Clark finishes their Northwest Conference slate with a 5-3 record. The Pioneers officially clinched a spot in the NWC Tournament and the fourth overall seed when Pacific University defeated the University Puget Sound late on Saturday.
- Peev wraps up conference play with three-straight singles wins and a 6-2 overall record at number one singles.
- Peev joined Chio as the only Pioneers to have reached double-figure singles wins this season. Peev (10-4) is one win behind Chio (11-4) for the team lead.
