KEY MOMENTS
The hosts struck for four runs in the first inning, exploded for seven runs in the sixth and tacked on four more in the eight inning.
Lewis & Clark took awhile to get the bats going on Sunday but recorded one run in the fifth, seventh and eighth innings.
In the fifth, Davis started the rally with a two-out single, stole second and moved to third on a Jack Savant single that loaded the bases. All three runners advanced ninety feet on a wild pitch but Pacific escaped without further damage when Moore crushed a line drive right at the third baseman.
Davis factored into the scoring in the seventh as well. Jakob Ghammachi worked a leadoff walk and stood at second base with one out. Davis ripped a triple to right field to score Ghammachi and Riley Guieb followed with a walk to put two on with one out. The Boxers again came up with a big defensive play, as Tyler Agnew induced an inning-ending double play.
After a slow start to the day, Jack Thomson extended his hitting streak and extra-base hitting streak in the eighth. Moore led off with a single and was standing on third base with one out. Thomson lined a double into the gap to score Moore for the final run of the day for the Pioneers.
Lewis & Clark starter Casey Parsons took his first loss of the season, after allowing seven hits and five runs scored in 4.2 innings.
Pacific's Derek Eubanks improved to 2-0. He went six innings and scattered three hits and one run and struck out five.
