KEY MOMENTS
Both games were pitcher's duels for the majority of the games with both team's defenses coming up clutch behind their pitchers.
In the opener, Lewis & Clark led 2-0 and 4-1, only to see the Boxers tie the game up in the bottom of the eighth inning. Pacific thought they had taken the lead in the bottom of the eighth, but a Boxer runner was deemed to have gone out of his way to slide into Guieb-on a potential inning-ending double play ball. The umpires huddled up and overturned the call to keep the game tied at 4-4 after eight.
Thomson and Luke Bass were each hit by pitches to start the top of the ninth and Thomson moved over to third on a Jakob Ghammachi fly out. With two outs, Guieb ripped an RBI single to left field for his second RBI hit in as many innings.
Pacific loaded up the bases with one out in the bottom of the ninth, but Tyler Shimabukuro induced a grounder to third that Thomson dove to his left to grab and then started a 5-4-3 game-ending double play.
Brett Pierson was phenomenal on the mound for Lewis & Clark. The sophomore starter struck out nine and allowed just one hit and one run in seven innings of work.
Thomson led the way with three hits, while Guieb and Jack Savant each picked up two hits of their own.
GAME TWO
The second game was more of the same with Lewis & Clark jumping out to an early 1-0 lead and the game going into the seventh inning tied 2-2.
Pacific scored two runs in the seventh to take the lead and then added four runs in the eighth, with designated hitter Patrick Muskat providing the big blow with a three-run home run.
Luke Ritter was the tough-luck loser for the Pioneers, after allowing eight hits and four runs (three earned), while striking out four in 6.1 innings pitched.
Thomson (two runs) and Bass each finished with two hits and a double for the visitors in the loss.

- Thomson, who was named the National Division III Position Player of the Month for the month of February, went 5-9 with three runs scored, two RBI and two doubles in the doubleheader. He has hit safely in 11-straight games and has at least one extra-base hit in seven-straight.
- Shimabukuro put together a big outing in relief in game one. He went two scoreless innings and struck out one for his second collegiate victory.
- The win snapped a seven-game losing streak against the Boxers. Lewis & Clark went 1-11 against Pacific the previous three seasons.
