Box Score WHITTIER, Calif. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers sent out three home runs and totaled six extra-base hits in Sunday's 14-1 win over the Whittier Poets at Mendez Stadium.
Dylan Moore hit a lead-off home run to begin the game, and Jack Thomson and Luke Bass went deep later as the Pios built a 6-0 lead through four innings.
Mason Lee and Jack Savant joined Bass with a double. Moore finished with three RBI, while Zack Kon, Lee, Thomson and Bass had two apiece.
Key Moments
Luke Ritter threw six innings as the Pios' starter and didn't yield a run until the fifth. He finished with six strikeouts and five hits allowed. Anthony Clerici threw the final three, allowed one hit and struck out seven.
Moore's lead-off homer and Blake Tellinghusen's RBI walk gave the Pios a 2-0 edge after one. Lee hit an RBI single in the third, and Thomson and Bass hit a two-run and solo home run, respectively, in the fourth. Lee doubled in a run in the fifth.
Kon's single scored two runs in the sixth, and Bass scored on a wild pitch. Bass doubled in a run, Jakob Ghammachi added a sacrifice fly and Moore hit a two-RBI single in the seventh and eighth innings.
