Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. -- Jack Thomson's three-run home run was the final play before weather halted the Lewis & Clark Pioneers' second game against the Linfield Wildcats on Saturday at Huston Sports Complex.
Thomson, who hit two homers in the Pios 6-2 loss to Linfield in the opener, gave the Pios an 8-4 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning as a steady rain fell on the field. The scores were part of a six-run fourth inning for the Pios.
The series, the home opener for the Pios, is scheduled to resume on Mar. 22.

Luke Bass hit a home run in the first inning to give the Pios a 2-0 lead, his fifth of the season.
Linfield answered with four runs in the third.
Justin Cavagnaro hit an RBI double and scored on Jack Savant's at bat to tie the game at four. Savant scored when Dylan Moore reached on an error, which gave the Pios back the lead before Thomson's homer.
Luke Ritter started the game and pitched four innings, allowed four runs on nine hits and struck out three.

Neither team posted a hit through the first three innings before Linfield scored two runs in the fourth. Thomson homered in the bottom of the fourth and sixth for the Pios only runs.
