BEAVERTON, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers fell 7-0 to the Portland State Vikings in their first match of the spring at Tualatin Hills Tennis Center.
In his first year with the Pios, Bennett Gazor was the closest in singles, 7-5, 6-2, to Otto Holtari.
Kristian Peev and Alberto Dos Santos had the best doubles match.

Peev and Dos Santos lost 6-3 to Nils Plutat and Sam De Vries in the top doubles match. Portland State took the point using NCAA Division I scoring rules after a pair of 6-1 wins in second and third doubles position.
Peev lost 6-2, 6-2 to Plutat in the No.1 singles match.
"As in years past, the Pioneers started their season opener against Portland State," assistant coach Phalkun Mam said. "It's such a great opportunity for the Pios to start out with a match against a Div. I school for a match that doesn't count towards our Northwest Conference record.
"In doubles, we started out with that nothing to lose mentality, trying to move at the net, step in on second serves, and though it wasn't enough to make a dent, the team were trying to play the right way."
Logan Hausler fell 6-2, 6-1 in second position singles to Tommy Hsu.
