Portland, Ore. – The Pioneers ended 2022 with a dominating 110-55 win over the visiting Royals of Douglas College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Lewis & Clark was down 5-2 early in the game, but that was the last time they would trail Douglas. The Pioneers would go on a 36-10 run to open up a 38-15 edge with 8:23 to go in the half and went into the break leading 60-26.
Senior
Jack Henderson led all players with 31 points. He shot 73.3% (11-15) from the field and 69.2% (9-13) from long range, both career highs.
Freshman
Taien Jackson started his first collegiate game, finishing with game highs in rebounds (8) and blocked shots (2). He added eight points off 3-4 field goals and 2-2 from beyond the arc.
Grant Stewart got his first start of the season and played his first home game in his senior year. He scored all 16 of his points in the first half and pulled down three rebounds.
Roderick O'Neal came off the bench for the Pios and went 4-6 from three-point land, including a beyond-NBA range bucket as the shot clock ticked under five seconds late in the contest. The junior ended the game with a career-high 12 points.
Grad student
Tyler McFarland was a perfect 4-4 from the field on his way to ten points. He tied his career-high in assists with five. McFarland pulled down six boards and had three steals.
Senior
Brenden Patrick scored 14 points and had a game-high seven assists. He enters 2023 with 886 points.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Roderick's final three was also the team's 19th of the game, the most by a Lewis & Clark men's team since at least the 2010-11 season. The Pios hit 17 threes against Warner Pacific on 11/20/13. The team record is 24 in a game.
- Coming into today's game, Lewis & Clark ranks 11th in Division III in scoring offense with 87.6 points per game, 6th in field goal percentage (50.4%), and 16th with 39.8% from three-point range.
- The Pioneers scored over 100 points for the fourth time this season. That is the most 100-point games since the 2013-14 season, when that team had five.
- This is the best start in Coach Tim McCrory's time at Lewis & Clark. Last season, the Pioneers started 6-5.

The Pios will open 2023 with a trip to Whitworth University on Friday, January 6 at 8 p.m. Each of the team's final 14 games will be Northwest Conference games. Lewis & Clark is currently 1-1 in conference play.
