Orange, Calif. –Brenden Patrick, Jack Henderson, and Taien Jackson combined for 48 points, but Chapman University pulled away at the end of the first half to end men's basketball's four-game win streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half between Lewis & Clark and Chapman saw four ties and six lead changes. The Pioneers held leads of 5-2, 19-18, and 27-25, but the Panthers utilized a 9-0 run in the final two minutes to take a 38-29 lead into halftime.
Henderson and Patrick led the way for the Pioneers in the first half, scoring eight points apiece. Henderson hit a three to give the Pios their first lead of the game, and Patrick gave them their last advantage with two made free throws. The seniors finished the game with 19 points each. Patrick recorded his second consecutive double-double and second of his career, leading the team with ten rebounds.
The Panthers extended their lead to 16 in the second half. Jackson hit a jumper with just over eleven minutes left in the game, starting an 11-1 Pioneer run. Henderson hit a three at the end of the run to pull Lewis & Clark within five points, but they would get no closer. Jackson finished the game with ten points, including a layup at the buzzer after he stole the ball from Chapman.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Sophomore Ryan Trunkett pulled down seven rebounds.
- Freshman Matt Hoffman and Henderson had five rebounds each.
- Jackson shot a team-high 62.5% (5-8) from the field.
