UW-River Falls Spoils Women's Basketball's Home Opener

Junior Jamison Richards posted a game-high 20 points

HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior Charlotte Carroll added 16 points and seven rebounds in the game. She tied for the lead in rebounds withĀ senior Kendal Jones and Richards matching her with seven. Carroll shot 7-15 from the field, tying her career-high in makes and setting a career-high in attempts.

Karli Mukai hit three shots from long range, scoring 14 points. She pumped up the crowd midway through the second quarter when despite giving up nine inches, she swatted away what looked like an easy two points for the Falcons in transition. It was the second career block for the 5-foot-0 junior.Ā

Freshman Madelyn Sanchez recorded career-highs with five points and a steal in her third collegiate contest. Junior Natalie Elstone added eight points and five rebounds. Jones rounded out the scoring with two points off a Richards assist.Ā 

The two teams sprinted out of the gate with the Falcons jumping out early and holding on to a 22-18 lead after one. River Falls extended their advantage to 50-37 by halftime and made it 71-49 after three. Lewis & Clark outscored the Falcons 16-15 in the final stanza.Ā
