Portland, Ore. – Lewis & Clark College men's basketball started on a 10-0 run against Portland Bible College. They finished the afternoon shattering the program record for the largest margin of victory that has stood for 52 years.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Senior
Brenden Patrick went off for a career-high 30 points in the win. He also recorded a eight career-high steals-which matched the single-game program record for steals.
Freshman
Matt Hoffman played his first collegiate game Saturday afternoon and made a massive impact. He recorded his first collegiate steal less than ten seconds after checking into the game for the Pios. By the end of the game, Hoffman hit four baskets from long range and finished with 18 points. Fellow freshman
TJ Muhammad played in the Orange and Black for only the second time. He recorded a team-high and career-best seven rebounds. He also recorded career-highs with 23 points, four steals, and three assists.
Brothers
Jack Henderson and
Sam Henderson each added 15 points for the Pios. S. Henderson shot 2-3 from long range and a perfect 3-3 from the charity stripe.
Freshman
Sidney Jones played in his first collegiate game and scored his first two collegiate points, pulled down his first two rebounds, and recorded his first career block and assist. Another newcomer,
Nikko Echalas, dished out a career-high seven assists to lead the team. Sophomore
Nik Berry scored a career-high nine points, grabbed a career-high five rebounds, and tied his career highs in assists and steals with one each.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Lewis & Clark's previous largest win margin was 62 points set on January 14, 1970 in a 112-50 win over George Fox University. Today's 74 win-point win included the ninth-most points ever scored by Lewis & Clark in a single-game.
- Senior Jonathan Green tied his career-high in steals with two and added two rebounds.
- The Pioneers scored over 120 points for the first time since January 4, 1996. It was the first time Lewis & Clark had gone over 100 points in almost a year. Lewis & Clark finished with 101 points in a 101-57 win over Northwest Indian College on November 27, 2021.
- Lewis & Clark shot a season-high 60.8 percent (48-79) from the field, 50 percent (14-28) from distance and hit 11 of their 15 free throws (73.3 percent).
- Freshman Taien Jackson tied his career-high points with four and had career-highs with two assists and a steal.
- The Pioneers earned a 44-6 edge in points off turnovers and 58-20 advantage in points in the paint.
- J. Henderson and Patrick now lead the team in scoring at 19.8 points per game.
- 10 of the 11 Pioneers to appear in the game scored. Echalas, the Pioneers starting point guard, did not attempt a shot and dished out seven assists in just 13 minutes of action.
