Senior Charlotte Carroll led the Pioneers with 14 points and eight rebounds

Eugene, Ore. – Junior Charlotte Carroll led Lewis & Clark College women's basketball players with 14 points and eight rebounds in a loss to host Bushnell University.Ā

HOW IT HAPPENED

Juniors Jamison Richards and Natalie Elstone chipped in 12 and ten points, respectively. Elstone tied Carroll with eight rebounds in the game. Junior Ashley Young and freshmen Emily Newton and Madelyn Sanchez hit shots from beyond the arc to score their first collegiate points. Young and Sanchez pulled down their first collegiate rebounds with three and two respectively. Young also had her first career assist.

The Pios' best quarter was their final one. They outscored the Beacons in the fourth quarter 20-13, and they shot 53.3% from the field and 50% from long range. Lewis & Clark won the offensive board battle 15-11 and scored 15 second chance points to Bushnell's 11 points.Ā

Bushnell took control of the game early, going on a 15-0 run to begin the game and extending their lead 50-22 at halftime and 73-36 after three quarters.Ā

  • Carroll pulled down five of the Pios' offensive rebounds and shot 63.6% from the field.
  • Junior Karli Mukai led the team with three assists and contributed nine points.Ā 
  • Richards added five rebounds to the team's 36 total.Ā 
  • Senior Kendal Jones rounded out the scoring with two points and pulled down two boards.Ā 
  • Sanchez tied her career-high in blocks.Ā 
  • Elstone had a career-high three steals.
