(Warner Pacific 2-2)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Warner Pacific started the game on a 14-4 run in the first seven minutes. Thomas Miles had eight points, and Caleb-Tyree Morgan had five blocks to spark the visiting Knights. Lewis & Clark cut that deficit to 16-13 by the nine-minute mark on a
Sebastian DePrez layup. The Pioneers were then outscored 26-9 and looked at a 20-point deficit heading into the locker room at the half (42-22).
Facing a 33-point deficit at the first media timeout in the second half, the Pios made some changes that started a comeback. Senior
Jack Henderson pulled down an offensive rebound and scored a putback to spark an 11-0 run. The combination of J. Henderson,
Sam Henderson,
Ryan Trunkett,
Khalil Glover-Dodson, and Patrick cut the Knights' lead to seven with 6:19 to go in the game. The Pios created seven Warner Pacific turnovers during that run and neutralized Morgan's defensive presence at the rim.
S. Henderson and Glover-Dodson were the sparks the Pioneers needed in the second half. Once they entered the game in the second half, Lewis & Clark outscored Warner Pacific by 22 points.
