Newberg, Ore. – Lewis & Clark College women's soccer's comeback attempt in the second half fell short, as host George Fox University held on for a 2-1conference win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Freshman keeper
Anna Ingadottir started her first Northwest Conference game against the Bruins and the second in her collegiate career. She faced ten shots in 90 minutes and made a career-high seven saves.
The Pioneers went into halftime down 2-0 and were outshot 10-0 in the first half. In their comeback bid, they outshot the Bruins in the second half 8-6.
Senior
Brecklyn Beighle recorded the game's first two shots for Lewis and Clark. Sophomore
Abby Hayes had the first shot on goal for the Pios in the 62nd minute. Freshman
Megan Yanagi then followed that up with three shots of her own.
In the 71st minute, junior
Celeste Schreifels ran down the ball in the box, where she was fouled. Schreifels took the first penalty kick of the year for the Pios and kicked the ball into the lower right of the net.
Junior
Sasha Raimondo tried tying the game in the 88th minute with a boot from the top left of the box. Bruin keeper Zirce Valeriano jumped in front of Raimondo's shot for the save and ended the comeback.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Schreifels is now 2-2 on penalty kicks in her career and moves into sixth in the NWC for points this season (16 points)
- Beighle moved into fourth in the NWC for shots.
- The Pios are outshooting opponents 112-102 in the second half this season.
