Ben Tallent, Lewis & Clark College men's soccer fell 2-0 on Monday night to host George Fox University at Austin Sports Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Playing their third game against a future Northwest Conference opponent, Lewis & Clark held the hosts scoreless through the first half. George Fox struck for two goals in a 10:41 span early in the second half to take the lead and held off the Pioneers late rally.
Tallent posted five of his nine saves in the first half to keep the game scoreless. He tacked on four more in the second half to tie his season and career-high for saves. Tallent was terrific throughout the contest as he controlled the Pioneers box throughout the contest.

The Bruins took the lead for good 1:45 into the second half. Cody DeMarino sent a long ball from midfield that Santiago Munevar brought down and then scored from 10-yards out.
George Fox put the game out of reach in in the 58
th minute. Jeff Friedman crossed the ball into the box and Kellin Aguiar chipped the ball in from in close for a 2-0 advantage.
Schwartz and Baur both recorded shots in the final 25 minutes but the Pioneers couldn't beat Bruins keepers Cade Matsumoto and Keoni Gavino.
BY THE NUMBERS
- In his last two regular-season starts, Tallent has posted nine saves in both starts. On the season, he is averaging seven saves per start and has a 3.05 goals against average.
- Freshman Aashir Walson and senior Lencho Genemo both made their collegiate debuts in the loss. Walson appeared in his first game as a Pioneer last Monday in the exhibition game against Willamette University. Tonight's game was Genemo's first varsity appearance.
- In three meetings against NWC opponents, the Pioneers have held all three opponents to three goals or fewer.
- Sophomore Jonah Koenig made his first collegiate start in the contest.

Lewis & Clark will host Multnomah University on Thursday night at 7 p.m. The contest will kick off a run of three games in four days for Lewis & Clark.
