Tallent posted a career-high in stops for the fourth-straight contest and Schwartz scored a penalty kick after freshman
Elliot Deleger was dragged down in the box in the final minute of regulation.Â

Tallent made nine saves alone in the first half and chipped in six more in the second half, to easily eclipse his former career-high of 11. Kaushal Reidman added one of the Pioneers two teams saves, as the freshman center back headed away a shot off the line to prevent a Pirates goal.Â

Wesley Esparza Salazar each recorded shots on target early in the second half.Â

Whitworth's Jordan Voigt led the team with two goals and three assists. Eric Shaporda chipped in a goal and three assists off the bench.

The visitors scored three goals in less than eight minutes to take a 3-0 lead at 17:31 and extended their advantage to 5-0 by halftime. They chipped in two goals in the first 13 minutes of the second half and then started a scoring flurry late, as the two teams combined for three goals in the final 3:23.Â
