Even throughout, the Pios fall in overtime

FOREST GROVE, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers lost 83-75 in overtime to the Pacific Boxers on Friday.

A 3-pointer with 47 seconds left by Pacific tied the game at 68 apiece at the end of regulation. The Pios led by three early in overtime, but the Boxers outscored Lewis & Clark, 15-4, the rest of the period. 

Jayden Simpson had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead the way for the Pios.

Lewis & Clark (6-7, 0-5 NWC) held a 12-point lead in the second half. Simpson had 14 of his 17 in the last 20 minutes of regulation on 5 of 7 shooting. He grabbed four rebounds and shot a perfect 4 of 4 from the free-throw line in the second half.

Midway through the period, the Boxers went on a 9-2 run led by Ethan Chung, who ended the game as Pacific's leading scorer with 21 points. Chung's 3-pointer with 47 seconds left tied the game at 68 and forced overtime. 

Pacific (5-8, 1-3 NWC) had a 20-10 edge in points off 24 Pios' turnovers, the most in a game by Lewis & Clark this season.
