PORTLAND, Ore. -- Playing on uncovered, on-campus courts for the first time since the mid 1990s, the Lewis & Clark Pioneers celebrated senior Madelyn Landerfelt with a 6-1 win over the Pacific Lutheran Lutes on Saturday.
Landerfelt won at No. 2 singles and paired with Natalie Kowal for a victory in the top doubles match on Senior Day.
Following an ice storm earlier this year that forced the removal of the L&C Tennis Dome, the Pioneers played an outdoor match for likely the first time since two decades ago.
Key Moments
With her second straight win in singles, Landerfelt moved to 3-7 on the year and 2-3 in No. 2 singles. She won 6-3, 6-4 over Bayley Gochanour.
In doubles, Landerfelt and Kowal got their first win of the year, 8-5, over Taylor Stokes and Gochanour.
Rachael Rice didn't give up a game in the top singles match over Hannah Jeffries. Rice is 3-2 in the top singles match this season.
