Box Score 2 TACOMA, Wash. -- Zack Kon had a pair of RBI in the opener, and Jack Savant hit a triple in the finale, as the Lewis & Clark Pioneers lost both on Saturday to begin their series with the Pacific Lutheran Lutes at PLU Field.
Kon's two-RBI double followed a run that was walked in for the Pios scores in a 13-3, seven-inning defeat in game one. Kon had a third-inning RBI single, and Savant scored on a wild pitch with Jakob Ghammachi's RBI single in the fifth, as the Pios were downed by the same margin in the finale.

Key Moments | Game 1
Kris Wuelfing started the opener and threw 1 1/3 innings. He gave up seven runs on six hits. Stephen Baker threw 3 2/3 innings and allowed five on eight hits. Tal Jones finished the final inning and allowed one run.
Aside from the three-run third inning, Savant had a single to open the fifth, Ghammachi singled with one on in the sixth and Mason Lee singled in the seventh, but the Pios stranded five runners in the final four innings.
Key Moments | Game 2
Noah Ferruggia allowed five runs on seven hits over 2 1/3 innings, while Anthony Clerici gave up six runs on three hits in 2 2/3 innings for relief. Brian Tatman finished the game and allowed two runs, the last of which ended the game on a mercy rule that is effective for the 2021 season.
Savant's triple, the first of his career, led off the Pios in the sixth. He scored on a wild pitch during Jack Thomson's at-bat. Three batters later, Ghammachi singled to score Dylan Moore.
PLU scored in all but the second inning on 13 hits. Austin Gormley and Connor Lemma each went 3 for 3.
