Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers hosted the Northwest Indian Eagles again on Wednesday night at Pamplin Sports Center, winning 93-53. The Pioneers had a hard time connecting to the basket at the start of the game but found their rhythm in the later half of the first, building the lead that would carry them to the win off a nearly six-minute-long Eagles scoring drought.
Sam Henderson was the leading scorer for Lewis & Clark, logging a career-high 19 points in the most minutes he's seen this season. He shot 50 percent in both field goals and from the three-point line and had a team-high four steals. Jack Henderson and Tyler McFarland each put 14 points on the board, and combined for 19 of the Pioneers' 55 rebounds. Lewis & Clark outrebounded the Eagles 30-16, with 13 of those 30 rebounds coming on the offensive end.

Key Moments
Despite the slow offensive start, the Pioneers were able to stay in the game in the first half due to their efforts rebounding for second-chance points in addition to forced turnovers in transition. Combined with full-court traps, The Pioneers were able to force 14 turnovers in the first half alone.
Lewis & Clark came out of the halftime break up by 20 and would stay up by a significant margin thanks to strong defensive pressure, and better commitment to rim pressure and knocking down open looks. The Pioneers held NW Indian to only 40 percent shooting on 27 attempts, compared to their own 44. The Eagles responded to the full-court press in the second by utilizing better positioning and passing earlier. This led them to start getting more consistent transition buckets but it was too late in the second to make a dent in the deficit.
The Pioneers' bench saw a lot of playing time, with multiple players seeing a season-high number of minutes. Jonathan Green hit 3-4 field goals and knocked down two free throws in a season-high 12 minutes of play while Sebastian DePrez nabbed five rebounds in his 13 minutes. McFarland went 5-8 in field goals and 2-2 in free throws, hit 2-4 three-pointers, and grabbed seven rebounds and two steals in his top performance of the season so far.
