PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers dominated against the Pacific Lutheran Lutes Saturday afternoon in a clean 9-0 sweep. The doubles matches played quickly, with each court winning by at least four points. Kristian Peev and Brendan Adams saw the largest margin with an 8-2 defeat of opponents Jake Kim and Derek Stone.
The singles matches also went well for the Pioneers, with almost every athlete winning in two sets. Will McDermott, playing in the number three position, lost his second set, but surged back in the third to clinch the match.

Key Moments
Ramez Attia and Shane Lynette played in the No. 1 position against Michael Pers and Hampus Pers Eliasson, setting the bar with an 8-4 win. They were the first team to finish their match. Attia also played in the first position in singles, winning 6-0, 6-3 in two straight sets.
McDermott teamed up with Riley Vickers in the second position to defeat Ryan Adams and Branson Near 8-3. Adams faced off against Attia later in singles, while Near and Vickers faced off again in the No. 6 spot. Vickers won handily 6-1, 6-0.
McDermott faced off against Eliasson in the third position, and played the only match that went to three sets. After winning 6-2 in set one, McDermott dropped the second set 1-6, but came back to win 6-3 in the third.
Lynette played in the No. 4 spot in singles, taking down Alex Richter 6-0, 6-1. His was the first of the singles matches to conclude.
Adams played in the No. 2 spot in singles, facing off against Cambell. He won 6-3, 6-1. Peev played in the No. 5 spot, reuniting against Stone. His first set was a close 6-4, but he closed out the match with a 6-1 win.

Looking Ahead
The Pioneers are on the road next weekend to take on the Whits. They play Whitworth on Saturday at 11 a.m. and face off against Whitman on Sunday at 8 a.m.
