PORTLAND, Ore. -- The crowd erupted in cheers as Zeke Crawford's sunk the first of his two free throws, earning his 1,000th career point with 12 seconds left on the clock. The senior forward was one of three to be honored for Senior Night on Saturday at Pamplin Sports Center as the Pioneers took on the Pacific Lutheran Lutes for their final game of the season.

The Lutes jumped ahead early, and despite a Pioneers comeback in the second half that tied the game, it wasn't enough to pull ahead. The clock ran out on the game with a 74-66 win for the Lutes.

Crawford, Kody Kennedy and Andrew Panicacci all played their final game on the hill, combining for 29 points, 15 rebounds and three assists. Crawford added another two blocks to his Lewis & Clark record-breaking career-high, finishing at 59 on the season and 132 for his career. Brian Smith added 20 points, six rebounds and two assists.

The Lutes pushed ahead early, and never gave up the lead in the first 20 minutes. The Pioneers fought back to a one-point deficit with 6:18 left to play in the first thanks to a 3-pointer from Ryan Cibull and a jumper from Smith, with back-to-back turnovers from the Lutes. It wasn't quite enough to push the Pios ahead, and the game went into halftime 30-27 in favor of Pacific Lutheran.

The Lutes put another two points up at the start of the second before the Pios found their first tie of the game at 17:44 when Panicacci sunk a 3-pointer off an assist from Kennedy. Smith followed up with a bucket that put the Pios up by two, but the lead was short-lived. After one more lead switch between the teams, Seth Hall scored 10 straight points for the Lutes to push them to an eight-point lead by the 13-minute mark which they never looked back from.

"We just didn't guard without fouling." Said head coach Tim McCrory, "That's the area where they got us."

Pacific Lutheran briefly led by double digits with just over two minutes remaining when Kelton Williams made a bucket and allowed the Lutes to cruise into the finish line. Brenden Patrick contributed 5 points and two rebounds, while Cibull and Dealon Floyd combined for 10 points, five rebounds and four assists. Smith and Nick Lombardi combined for the Pios' four steals of the night.
