Box Score NEWBERG, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers needed a win over George Fox on Friday as part of a bid for the Northwest Conference tournament. With four in double figures, the Pios did just that with a 90-78 victory over the George Fox Bruins.
Entering the weekend, Lewis & Clark needed a win, a loss by Pacific Lutheran at Pacific on Friday and a win over PLU on Saturday to qualify as the No. 4 seed for the NWC tournament. PLU prevailed over Pacific 91-78, which eliminated the Pioneers from contention.
Along with eight rebounds, Brian Smith scored 14 first-half points to finish with 20. Lewis & Clark (11-13, 7-8 NWC) led from start-to-finish.

Brenden Patrick hit a game-opening 3-pointer, one of three he put in during the game, to finish with 19 points on 7 of 11 shooting. Daelon Floyd had eight of his 12 points in the first half and added 10 rebounds to finish with his first double-double of the season.
With a 41-31 halftime lead, Zeke Crawford was key in the second half. After playing just seven minutes because of foul trouble in the first, Crawford scored 19 points in the second half on 9 of 10 shooting.
