NEWBERG, Ore. -- Behind a team-wide effort that included a career-high 30 points from senior Mak Hutson, the Lewis & Clark Pioneers won their third game in the last four with a 94-84 victory over the George Fox Bruins on Saturday at Wheeler Sports Center.

Making the most of a season-best 54 percent shooting night, the win moves the Pios (7-12, 3-7 NWC) two games behind the Bruins for the fourth spot in the Northwest Conference standings.

Hutson was consistent throughout his 28 minutes off the bench as Lewis & Clark led the vast majority of the game. Zeke Crawford added 21 points including a layup that gave the Pioneers a game-high 12-point lead with just under 13 minutes remaining.

Key Moments

After building a double-digit lead in the second half, George Fox (11-8, 5-5 NWC) used an 11-1 run in the middle of the second half to take its only lead of the game. Ryan Lacey, whose 18 points were second only to his teammate Mason Green-Richards' 21, led the charge for the Bruins over a span of 1:40 that put George Fox up 64-63. The Bruins eventually led by four points.

Much like in Friday's 90-81 win at Linfield, Lewis & Clark remainded steady, quicklyg moving back ahead. Sparked by Adrian Romero's corner 3-pointer, the Pioneers used a 10-0 run to build a six-point lead with 6 1/2 minutes left.

Lewis & Clark opened the game shooting 71 percent from the floor while George Fox missed 7 of 9 shots. Coming off a 79-78 overtime win at Puget Sound the night before, George Fox has now lost five of its last six games.
