PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers lost both games to the Pacific Boxers on Saturday nights double-header with scores of, 11-9 & 5-2. This loss drops their conference record to 3-10.

GAME 1

It was a rough start for Lewis & Clark as the first run of the game was scored by Pacific in the first inning after Joey Galeno hit a home run to left field. Pacific then went on to score five more runs in second inning before the Pioneers scored at the top of the third.

In the third, Chandler Vieira hit a two RBI single to left field to bring in Kevin Jacobs and Justin Katona. Right after, Pacific threw a wild pitch which led to Matt Donovan running home making the score 6-3.  The Boxers then scored one run at the bottom of the third and fourth inning to go up 8-3.

At the top of the fifth, Max Gordon hit a solo home run to bring the Pioneers to within four, but Pacific brought in another run after Derek Legeza RBI singled to left field.

The sixth inning looked like the Pioneers were going to comeback after C. Vieira earned his fourth RBI. He hit a two RBI double down the infield line to bring home Jacob Serafini and K. Jacobs. S. Shepherd then hit a two RBI home run of his own to bring home C. Vieira bringing to Pios to within one with the score 9-8.

Pacific's Trevor Quinn extended the lead for the Boxers at the bottom of the seventh after hitting a two RBI double to left field making the score 11-8. In the eighth, M. Gordon closed the run gap to two after hitting an RBI single up the middle to bring home C. Vieira but the Pios then went scoreless at the top of the ninth ending the game 11-9.

GAME 2

In the second game the Pioneers did not start off slow and were the first to score. At the top of the first inning, Max Gordon hit a sacrifice fly out to center field which allowed Chandler Vieira to score. Pacific then answered back at the bottom of the first after a throwing error by the Pios let Dylan Wright score.

At the top of the second, C. Vieira's consistent hitting performance from the first game carried over into the second game as he hit an RBI single to left field to bring home Kevind Jacobs. Unfortunately, Lewis & Clark went scoreless for the rest of the game leaving 12 runners on base even though they had 10 hits to Pacific's nine.

Pacific then went on to score four more runs, one in the fifth inning and three in the eighth inning, to take the game 5-2.

Robert Reaser played in 7.1 innings of this game and had seven strikeouts.
