SALEM, Ore. -- After scoring two runs in the eighth inning to take the lead, the Lewis & Clark Pioneers allowed one to the Willamette Bearcats in the bottom half and another in the ninth inning to lose their second-straight game of the series, 4-3, on a walk-off at John Lewis Field on Saturday afternoon.

With Tyler Janitz, who led off the inning with a double, on third, Perry Van Eckhardt flied out to left field, allowing Janitz to tag and score. 

The final run spoiled Sean Shepherd's eighth-inning home run that scored two and gave the Pioneers a 3-2 lead.

Jeramy Albert lost in relief of Andrew Yarak, who pitched 7 2/3 innings.

Game Two

Willamette started the scoring plays in the bottom of the fourth inning, when Fessler hit an RBI double to left field. In the bottom of the fifth inning, a three run homer by Conway was followed in the next at bat by a homerun from teammate Van Eckhardt. 

Conway came in clutch again for the Bearcats in the bottom of the eighth inning, when his RBI single to right field allowed Willamette a seven point lead. 

Lewis & Clark put in a valient effort in the top of the ninth inning, when a home run by Tommy Massari brought in two more runs. Unable to score more, the Pioneers lost, 7-3. 

In game two, Drake Gilliland pitched for 5 innings, collecting the loss, before Chandler Vieira came in at relief, pitching for the final three. Benjamin Whitten won for the Bearcats, pitching for 7 inning before both Mason Cook and Nolan Boggini pitched for one each.
