Lewis & Clark defeats George Fox, ends losing streak

NEWBERG, Ore. -- Lewis & Clark junior Cannen Roberson scored a season-high 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to pace the Pioneers to a 93-75 victory over George Fox on Saturday night.

Roberson made 9-of-14 shots, including two 3-pointers, and went 10-for-16 from the free-throw line. The 6-foot-5 guard scored 15 points in a 51-point first half for the Pioneers. Lewis & Clark finished the half with a 22-point advantage over the Bruins.

The Bruins kept even with Lewis & Clark through the start of the second half, but an 11-3 run midway through the half put the Pioneers up 83-53 for their largest lead of the game.

Alex Jones added 22 points for Lewis & Clark, which snapped a five-game losing streak with the victory. Jason Luhnow also finished in double figures with 15.

George Fox was led by JJ Lacey, who scored 18 points in the Bruins' third consecutive loss.

Lewis & Clark will host Linfield at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
