PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark men's tennis team battled the George Fox Bruins on Saturday afternoon, falling 5-4 in the L&C Tennis Dome.
The Pioneers picked up two of their four points in doubles play with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Having fallen to the duo of Spencer Watanabe and Andrew You in their first meeting of the year, Pim Trouerbach and Gordon Barrows bounced to take the re-match 8-4.
The same was true for Kevin Ross and Michael Brewer from No. 2 doubles. The pair fell to Chris Lilley and Chase Stalcup earlier in the year, but had no problem cruising past the Bruins this go around, winning 8-2.
Lewis & Clark's lone points in singles play came from Daniel Hahm (No. 5) and Barrows (No. 6). Hahm blew past Vincent Viloria 6-1, 6-1, while Barrows defeated Nick Ekern 6-4, 6-2.
The team returns to the court on Saturday, April 18 at home against Linfield. The match is set for 11 a.m.
