PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark men's tennis team dominated Willamette on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Bearcats 9-0. This is the second time the Pioneers have defeated the Bearcats this season.
The Pioneers made quick work of the Bearcats in doubles play, starting with a 8-4 win by Michael Brewer and Kevin Ross in the No. 1 spot. Pim Trouerbach and Gordon Barrows picked up an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles, while Harrison Collins and Morgan Joyce won 8-2.
In singles, Ross picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win in the No. 1 spot, while Joyce won 6-2 in the opening set before his opponent retired. Daniel Hahm earned a 6-1, 6-0 win in the No. 3 spot, while G. Barrows won 6-4, 6-4 (No. 4) and Brenden Barrows won 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 5. Parker Nichols rounded out play for the Pios with a 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 6 spot.
The Pioneers return to action on March 25 at Chapman.
