PORTLAND, Ore. - Sophomore Cannen Roberson and junior Serg Ovchinnikov each netted a season-high 22 points on Saturday night as the Pioneers hosted George Fox in Northwest Conference action. The Pioneers picked up their sixth straight win with the 86-65 victory.

The Pios are now 11-6 overall and 6-2 against conference opponents. The Bruins slip to 4-13 on the season and 2-6 in the NWC.

Roberson picked up his 22 off the bench for the Pioneers, hitting 10-of-13 from the floor while making 2-of-3 from the free-throw line. Three-pointers contributed to 15 of Ovchinnikov's 22 points with the guard ending the night 5-of-13 from long distance and 8-of-18 from the floor. Bradley Carter netted nine points in the win, while pulling down a game-high seven rebounds. Jason Luhnow led all players with six assists and three steals.

Jonny Howard knocked down a team-high 15 points for the Bruins, while teammate Chris Stanfield finished with 10.

The first half was back and forth the entire time with all six of the game lead changes and five ties coming in the period. The Pioneers took an early six point, 8-2, lead in the opening two minutes, but the Bruins quickly worked their way back into the half.  George Fox held a two-point lead with a little over a minute remaining in the first half, but a buzzer beater by Carl Appleton knotted the score at 41-41 at the break.

The Pioneers opened the second half with a 15-3 run that handed them a 56-44 advantage. The Pios would continue to pile it on, taking a 16 point, 60-44, lead with 14:40 left to play. George Fox would never cut the deficit to single digits the rest of the way.

Lewis & Clark is set to start the second half of the conference season on Friday, Jan. 30 at Whitworth. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
